Half a star is awarded here for the redoubtable Ken Jeong. This ubiquitous actor always brings energy and precision to his roles, but though he tries his best, clad in white make up as a camp vampire and hamming it up for all its worth in his few scenes, he cannot save this woeful send-up of the Twilight movies.
The production design and sets look virtually the same as those in the teen trilogy and the plot for what it's worth follows the same template – shy girl uprooted with her moustachioed policeman father to the sticks, falling for hearthrob Edward Sullen, the dreamy vampire who must protect her from herself.
Dull scenes are punctuated with gags – physical, verbal and lavatorial – that are excruciating to witness. To be honest with you I fell asleep for 40 minutes because the whole thing was so tiresome. A painful and execrable experience to sit through. Avoid at all costs.
