Toby Weidmann's Top 10 films of 2010

1. Inception
Loved its Kubrick sensibilities and top notch cast.

2. Lebanon
Most intense and claustrophobic film of the year.

3. The Road
Not read the book, so maybe why I loved this bleak post-apocalyptic film so much.

4. Mother (Madeo)
Brilliant psychological thriller with an unlikely anti-hero.

5. Red
Great cast, top action, "stoopid" story, but best out-and-out action flick of the year.

6. Solomon Kane
Love my sword and sorcery films, and this one was thoroughly entertaining.

7. Shutter Island
Seems to be a Marmite film, but I loved it. The end twist was telegraphed, but I enjoyed the journey getting there.

8. Toy Story 3
A little overly sentimental for me, but hard to fault otherwise.

9. Monsters
Surprise hit. Dark, sinister road movie with an unusual setting.

10. Breathless (Ddongpari)
Mercilessly violent and tragic exploration of domestic violence, yet beautiful and touching too.

On the radar: Kick-Ass, Bad Lieutenant, REC 2, Precious, Down Terrace, A Prophet, Secret In Their Eyes, Exit Through The Gift Shop
