National Geographic's Baby Tales, clocking in at just under an hour, is a television documentary from 2000 that tells the stories of different newborn animals from a variety of species, as they embark on their individual journeys into life. The documentary chronicles the joy, adventure and sadness that pave the road to adulthood for young creatures.
The film is perfect armchair viewing as you can just sit back, relax and immerse yourself in the habitats of the animals on screen, from polar bears and chimpanzees to alligators and buffalo. The documentation of these natural worlds provides a pleasant watch and taps into your emotions, making you feel for the creatures as you are shown the underlying hazards of birth in the wild, and no doubt you'll be getting the giggles as you witness black bears trying to familiarise themselves with climbing trees, only to take a tumble or two.
Baby Tales is certainly worth your while if you're looking for an easy escape for an hour, and you just might learn a thing or two as you watch and listen to the calm narration. It's a simple celebration of life in the animal kingdom.
EXTRAS No supplementary material, just access to the documentary from a very bland menu screen.
