This appalling comedy may have the misfortune of coming out in the same year as another amnesiac assassin movie (in fact two if you count last weeks ‘Hitman’), but there all comparisons end. Where as The Bourne Ultimatum is sure to top many lists as this year’s best film I suspect that this film will do equally well in any 'worst of…' rundown.
Waking up next to a case full of money, a dead federal agent and no recollection as to who he is, Jake Rodgers (Cedric The Entertainer) flees the scene and ends up meeting his wife in the lobby of the hotel he is in. Realising he is in danger from the woman claiming to be Mrs Rodgers (Sheridan) he again escapes, this time with some of his faltering memory coming back to him. Eventually he teams up with a waitress called Gina (Liu) who may or may not be his girlfriend and sets off to bring down the organization behind his current state.
Or something to that effect. I really wasn’t paying much attention to this film as it doesn’t warrant it. Most of the stars look embarrassed to be in this, and certainly some of them should be. The overall effect is a messy and unfunny waste, with lawyers on high-alert as Cedric ‘The Entertainer’ could well be done under the Trade Descriptions Act.
